I thought that SD put on the best show! For those of you not there, this was a totally unique SD experience. The highlights were Mike bringing his son Gillian up on stage to sing, a new reggae song dedicated to Joe Strummer, George Bush bashing, and the Long Black Veil cover, which reminded me of the much missed solo shows. They played a few older songs, some newer songs, and some brand new songs. Obviously, we heard the essence of the long awaited album.

I'm going off memory here...
Road Zombie
Play With Fire (Rolling Stones)
Shame On Me
Private Hell (new song)
Long Black Veil
Ring Of Fire
The Harder They Come (Jimmy Cliff)
King Of Fools
Guns Of Brixton with Julian singing (Clash)
Footprints On My Ceiling
Sick Boys
When She Begins
Don't Take Me For Granted

Did I forget anything? I'm sure I flip-flopped the order of a song or two in there.

When Mike said they were bringing out a special guest, I was hoping to god it wasn't Little Richard.

No mention of the new album. The Nekromantix I would say put on a good show. Neverheard of them before and I aint in to much phsyco billy but the lead singers coffin bass was pretty crazy.

Steady diet of coffee, cigarettes, and Johnny walker over this weekend and no sleep to top it all off. Well at least you had fun right. I was not at the hoot and to name this post the hoot is a sure way to get you all to come tell me about it. I got the feeling that social d was going to do a mix of slow and fast tunes to create a good blend is this accurate????????

The Nekromantix were pretty cool, I have been wanting to check them out. I only stayed by the stage for a few songs though, there was too much dirt flying around.
I didn't recognize that reggae song as the Harder they Come, but I haven't heard the song in a long time, and I was expecting to hear a brand new song. I must have misunderstood what Mike was saying, because my impression was that it was a song he wrote for Joe Strummer. I guess it's hard to catch everything. I did hear him say that his son was singing a Clash cover though. Regardless, it was a trip hearing Social D play reggae.
I too thought of you KoF, when they played King of Fools. I can't imagine trying to do the Ozzfest and the Hoot. It's miserably hot out in Glen Helen. Your a trooper!
Junkie and Mom, sorry Austin and I didn't get a chance to meet up with you at the HOB last night, we were just too wiped out from the day but I wish I could have seen you both again.

I have to say I think that was one of the best Social D shows I have ever seen. The set was just so awesome! It totally made up for having to listen to Little Richard for a whole hour!! Haha. And I LOVED Private Hell.
